What does “LMS as a Service” include?
LMS as a Service includes - in addition to maintenance and operation of the learning management system - the complete administration of your courses, i.e. the “course management”:
- Importing SCORM course content into the LMS
- Importing users into the LMS
- Assigning courses to users (=participants) and inviting them to participate
- Supporting users during the course (forgotten password, login not possible, etc.)
We always offer our LMS "IS-FOX Campus" version as LMS as a Service. IS-FOX Individual can optionally be used with our LMS as a Service component. You will receive an “Admin light” in all variants, with which you can keep an eye on your participation progress and create statistics at any time.
FAQ regarding the IS-FOX Learning Management System
Moodle is probably the best-known open source learning management system in the world and is used in countless schools, universities and companies. With its flexible expandability through plug-ins, there is hardly anything that Moodle cannot do. This strength is also the biggest challenge: Moodle can do far too much! Anyone approaching Moodle without any background knowledge will quickly get lost in the universe of functions, both as a user and as an administrator.
That's why we have adapted Moodle intensively for our purposes. We have removed unneeded functions, added new important functions through plug-ins and given the whole thing a modern and easy-to-use interface. This gives you exactly the range of functions you need, without feature and admin overkill.

All our learning platforms are operated in German data centers, which are of course ISO27001 certified.
IS-FOX is the product brand of HvS-Consulting, a cybersecurity specialist with 20+ years of experience in IT security. We know how secure IT works and have implemented the corresponding processes together with our Moodle partner. It goes without saying that we regularly have our LMS landscape checked for vulnerabilities using penetration tests.
Basically, there is hardly anything that Moodle cannot do. Moodle offers integration options via various plug-ins and APIs, e.g. into the Microsoft 365 world or other well-known systems.
However, these are always individual, sometimes complex integration projects. We hand over such projects to our Moodle partner as implementation specialists.
With IS-FOX Campus actually no, as we only measure whether a participant has completed a course and passed the test (if available). You do not receive any information about the number of attempts, the time or the score achieved. Therefore, it is not a “personal performance assessment” in the strict sense.
With IS-FOX Individual, the course administrator in your company can request detailed information. It is likely that there is a duty of co-determination here.
However, we always recommend informing and involving any existing co-determination committees, regardless of the legal issue. So far, we have always been able to offer a satisfactory solution for all sides.
No, you can of course provide your own content or content from other providers, as long as it complies with current standards (PDF, video, Scorm, etc.).

Ideally, you should switch to the IS-FOX learning management system before a new training cycle starts. For example, if you have just started the annual data protection training on your previous platform, this is not the best time, as no training or user progress can be migrated when switching.
When you switch to the IS-FOX LMS, all users in all courses start again. Timing is therefore important. However, we will be happy to advise and support you in this.
